INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW
WHO: High School Students
WHEN: The Internship duration is July 5th – August 12, 2022
LOCATION: All program activities will take place remotely via Zoom, Google Colab and Data Studio (a research software) and email.
REQUIREMENTS: Candidates for this internship must have access to a computer / laptop and access to high speed internet to attend meetings, to complete written assignments and to conduct presentations.
Interns will have free access to all online software required for projects.
SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: Candidates for this internship must have:
Good oral and written presentation skills
Demonstrated interest in working with other students from diverse backgrounds
Interest in community-focused projects
Must have an interest in conducting basic data analysis and visualization using open source tools.
Ability and interest to work on team projects
Ability and interest in conducting presentations to diverse audiences

INTERNSHIP DETAILS
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS TRAINING: (Group and Individual Work)
- Data Analysis and Visualization

RESPONSIBILITIES: (5 hours total per week)
- 3.5 hours/week working on a project and presentations for a youth data science education project
- 1.5 hours/week attending virtual professional development training workshops
- Conduct mid-session presentations and final presentations to panel of professionals
- Complete your own professional development plan and revise your resume for future career prospects
COMPENSATION: Participating interns will receive a total stipend of $600 paid in two $300 installments.
IMPORTANT TAX INFORMATION: Interns will receive an IRS 1099 form, reporting their compensation to the IRS. Students are responsible for paying required taxes. We recommend you meet with your tax preparation professional to discuss how receiving this stipend will impact your tax liability. Your tax preparation professional can also help you determine whether you qualify for deductions for costs incurred over the course of the internship such as fees for internet and phone service.

Background Information
ILE’s Internship Program seeks to improve professional development and economic outcomes for students particularly those of African descent and/or from BIPOC communities. Our program supports students in building competencies in key areas of project management, research and data analysis and public speaking. Most importantly students develop the important skill of reflection, honing in ones interests and being able to articulate them clearly to gain opportunities in higher education, career and entrepreneurship. All interns are offered a stipend.
ILE Consulting Group was founded in 2016 by to offer nonprofit and mission-based businesses with impactful strategic planning, fund development and professional training services. We have been fortunate to work with nonprofit organizations and businesses throughout New York City and other parts of the country.
